The Portraits
Realistic or abstract, my goal is to convey authenticity in a portrait. Many of the pieces above are available in my store. If you’d like to commission a piece in one of the styles you see, please contact me.
22” x 28” oil on canvas
Charlie Chaplin reshaped cinema as an actor, filmmaker, and composer, becoming one of the most influential figures of the silent film era. When I saw the reference photo for this piece, I saw more than the bowler hat and cane—I saw his tenderness, resilience, wit, and vulnerability. He asked the world to laugh, even through tears, and to see the beauty in struggle. I wanted to capture that paradox, the comedy and the ache, which lived side by side in both his art and his life.
"A day without laughter is a day wasted."
